definitely not so sunny lately but it's cool because it makes the streets look more cinematic --lol
with every new day comes a stronger favorable feeling for this city.
the other day i was in a bikram yoga class (my first of two thus far) when i was again overwhelmed by the beauty of the city:
class is on the second floor of an old brick walk-up with a buzzer (is there any other kind here?) on the lower east side, in a room intentionally heated to 105-ish for a powerful yoga practice for those not in the know of this ever-cultish-in-a-good-way style of yoga. i had gotten myself through an hour and ten minutes-ish of an hour and a half of pure dripping intensity and it was time to lay on the floor for the rest of the positions. i was facing the large windows. as a heat wave engulfed my being, the rain began to fall hard onto the city street below and i watched in awe as i felt as if my body was in a desert with no hope for an oasis, but somehow magically, just the sight of the rain cooled me and my love for NYC felt a little deeper...
